If you become a christian, your life on earth may become more difficult. We encourage everyone to take hold of the hope we have, but understand the cost as they sacrifice life on earth for life in the eternal.
Jesus Christ did not come to earth, live as a man, die a horrific unjust death, and rise from the grave so that you might have an easier life on this earth. He died so that you may have eternal life after this earthly existence.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
The Word of God does not promise even the Christian that your health will improve, that it will fix your financial problems, or deliver peace for our nation. If this is your false impression of Christianity, then we recommend a few shocking details of the early Christian leaders. The Apostle Paul left a prominent religious position as a Jew to become a Christian leader only to be whipped on five occasions, beaten with rods, stoned, imprisoned, shipwrecked, and left floating on the open sea. The Apostle Peter if tradition is correct watched his wife crucified just before he himself was crucified upside down. Many Christians were martyrs, outcasts, penniless, and lonely in the first century church.
